How it Started
April 19, 1775- The Revolutionary War started which led to many important battles and historical events.

Battles that led up
May 10, 1775- The British then sieged one of our main forts, Fort Ticonderoga which gave us the will to fight back.
June 16, 1775- The Battle of Bunker Hill was one of the major loses for the Americans. This battle made us realize we needed support from other countries and new battle plans.
December 26, 1776- The next main battle of the war was the battle of Trenton. This battle was planned by George Washington in which the surprisingly attacked they British when they were unarmed. This led to be an important victory to the Colonies.

Battles of Saratoga
September 19, 1777- This was the first part of the battle of Saratoga at Freemans Farm. This battle started when the British General Burgoyne tried to sneak into American force’s lines. In which they accidently met with American forces led by Benedict Arnold. Unprepared to fight the British hastily retreated before losing to many soldiers; however, the British still suffered many casualties at the first part of the Battle of Saratoga.
October 7, 1777- The second part of the Battle of Saratoga was held at Bemis Heights. As the General Burgoyne was to impatient to wait for reinforcements he decided to lead his men in as he thought the colonials would be surprised. However he was yet again incorrect about the rebels and suffered the fate of losing more than half of his forces and died in the process of fighting. This was an extremely important point in history, not only was it the turning point of the war for the Americans but it led to the United States gaining trust from the other nations, especially France. When the French herd of this victory they gained trust and became allies with the Americans which will help them later on in the revolution.

Results of Saratoga
October 9, 1781- This battle led to the conclusion of the Revolutionary War. In this Battle Most of the British forces came over to the Colonies to end the war. However due to complications some of the British fleet didn’t make it to the colonies which hurt the British. When they were fighting the French proved to be very helpful allies as they cut off any supply ships or soldier ships from reaching the colonies. Not only that but they assisted the Americans on foot to. In the end the British were completely outnumbered and surrendered to the Americans in 1783.
